Can anyone recommend a place for auditions in london?

I'm looking for a suitable location in london to hold some auditions ideally near a decent underground station and (more importantly) as cheap as possible. Does anyone know anywhere they'd recommend?

If you want somewhere central, then I spent quite a lot of time looking last autumn for the same reason. The cheapest I found was Conway Hall, run by South Place Ethical Society. It's very central, being a couple of minutes walk from Holborn tube station. Here's a link: http://www.conwayhall.org.uk/

Of course it depends on what type of setup you need. We hired a room approximately 5m by 8m for two days for ?110. Also, there is a discount if you are a student, which I'm not anymore. That's less the half of what I was being quoted anywhere else. Other options might be to try schools or churches (although these started at around ?80 a day). If you want a nice long list to phone around, try borough council websites. I live in Newham, so tried their site first, and they had about 30-40 suggestions. Of course the best way to get anything is to pull in a favour and get something for free. Ask yourself, who do you know who is a teacher, and can get you a classroom for a weekend, or helps out at a religious centre, mosques, synagouges and temples all frequently have function rooms.

CORRECTION: Apparently the room I hired was 4.5m by 3.6m (It seemed bigger).

Richard seems to have some very good suggestions but if you're still struggling to find somewhere and if you're also in need of some actors then one place you could try where you will find BOTH is The Tristan Bates Theartre (between Leicester Sq and Covent Garden) http://www.tristanbatestheatre.co.uk/ It's pretty small (quite rough and ready and is also home to The Actors Centre) and I'm sure it's not too expensive...
